About AudioRealm

The story behind your source for music on the web.

Our Story

AudioRealm was born in 2004 during the golden age of internet radio — a time when Winamp playlists, SHOUTcast directories, and bedroom broadcasters were rewriting the rules of how people discovered music. What started as a simple station listing grew into a community hub for listeners and casters alike.

After years offline, AudioRealm is back. Rebuilt from the ground up with the same spirit that made it special — an independent, curated window into the world of internet radio. No algorithms deciding what you hear. No corporate playlists. Just real people broadcasting real music to real listeners, the way it was meant to be.

Our Mission

AudioRealm exists to celebrate internet radio as an art form. We believe every station — whether it’s a massive network or a single person streaming from their living room — deserves to be discovered. Our directory connects listeners with thousands of live streams spanning every genre, format, and corner of the globe.

Built for the Community

Internet radio has always been a grassroots movement. AudioRealm honours that legacy by keeping the focus on the broadcasters and the listeners — not the platform.

The Spirit of Internet Radio

Before streaming services turned music into background noise, internet radio was something different. It was personal. A DJ in Tokyo spinning city pop at 3am. A jazz station run out of a flat in London. A metalhead in São Paulo sharing deep cuts with twelve loyal listeners. Every stream was a labour of love.

That spirit never died — it just went underground. Thousands of independent stations still broadcast every day, powered by Icecast, SHOUTcast, and sheer determination. AudioRealm is here to make sure those stations get heard.
